Farewell Bend 1: Snake River in Oregon

Farewell Bend 1. 2016. Oil on Linen Panel. 30" x 40"
When we drove to the Petrified Forest National Park last August for my Art Residency, we made a point of stopping at Farewell Bend in Oregon, on the Snake River.

We timed our departure from Bellingham so that we'd be there before sunset - there's a great campsite. It was windy but we sat on our picnic table with a bottle of Syncline Syrah and watched the smoke from the forests of Washington converge with the smoke from Oregon just past the bend of the river.
